The Horseshoe Bend artist said has hadan interest in the mountain range since the 1970’s.
He consideredthem an iconic part of the local landscape.
“Japan have Mount Fiji, we have the Brokenbacks,” he said.
Mr Adams said the great thing about the mountains was that you could see them from different vantage points around the Hunter Valley.
He was inspired by the view of the mountains fromplaces such as Morpeth, Bolwarra, Broke and even out on the road
“On the highway at sunset it’s beautiful,” Mr Adams said.
Each piece was created with oil paint, which the retired art teachersaid he never had time to use when he was working.
“It was nice to go back to that,” he said.
Horseshoe Bend artist John AdamsBrokenbacks and Beyondwill be held at the cafe thisFriday at 11am.
The display will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 7.30am-3pm, Wednesday 8am-2.30pm, Thursday and Friday 7.30am-3pm and Saturday 8am-1pm.
