The school entered both a mixed team and an all boys team in the same competition but inopposing pools.
Redfield College, Rouse Hill Public School and West Ryde Public School also entered teams into the cup.
The boys ‘A’teamdefeated West Ryde 3-0 in the final and now qualify for the regional western Sydney finals, which will be held in late term 3 at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Galston Public School teacherDean Finch said the Wanderer’s Cup was an excellent opportunity for year five and six students.
“Most schools get to take part in a weekly competition, as part of the PSSA (Public School Sport Association),” he said.
“Because we are such a small school and have to travel large distances we only participate one term a year.
“That’swhy when any gala day comes up we get involved and take the opportunity.”
A 13-playersquad will represent the school at the final series.
“There aren’t any rep players,I’d say we are pretty solid across the whole team,” Finch said.
“We’ll probably do a couple of training sessions leading up to the event at lunch time.
“But the kids all play club together on Saturdays so they will be prepared.”
This is the second year in a row the school has made the final series.
